Mansfield, Cheryl Lynn Floyd-O’Bryant, 62, of Mansfield passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at home after an extended illness. Born on March 21, 1959, in Mansfield, OH, to the late Albert Dean Small and Conuse Alice Scott Haley, Cheryl graduated in 1977, from Malabar High School. Cheryl later received formal training as a cake decorator and as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Cheryl followed her mother’s footsteps as a renowned baker and cook, making everything from scratch. Cheryl ran a catering business for many years, selling her delicious meals, and specialty cakes in Mansfield and the surrounding area. Cheryl excelled as a cake decorator and could easily transform a photo into a cake that people would rave about for weeks, and many in Mansfield sought Cheryl out to make cakes for special occasions. Cheryl also had a special knack for caring for those in need. Cheryl cared for her mother for several years and as a Certified Nurse Practitioner, Cheryl helped clients from Mansfield to Ashland that required complex patient care. Many of Cheryl’s clients became like family to her. In her spare time, Cheryl made beautiful floral arrangements and she willingly shared her interior design talents with others. She leaves to cherish in her memory her brother, Edward D. Small, of Mansfield; sister, Annette Brownlee, of Odenton, MD; nephews, Jason (Sugarr) Small, of Middletown, DE, Caesar(Lugenia), Small, of Avon, OH, and Christopher Cameron, of Crofton, MD; niece, Yolunda (Shaun) Mayo, of Dayton, OH; uncle, Calvin Cannada, of Mansfield; aunts, Ann (Leon) Jefferson and Corrine Scott, of Mansfield; a host of relatives and friends.
