Charles Anthony Logan Jr.

Charles Anthony Logan Jr., (A Superior Trash Talker) 71, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 28th, 2022, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital from a brief illness. Charles was born on Friday, September 29th, 1950, in New Madrid, Missouri, to the late Charles Logan Sr. and Mary Lee (Davis) Nettles. Affectionately, known as “Geech” Charles can be remember best for his love of all sports, hand dancing, love of dogs, his gambling itch when playing spades or dominoes, eating and spending time with his family. Charles was a member of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church under the watch of Pastor Willard Whitson. Charles is survived by his four children, Charteri Brooks-Logan who holds part of his entire name aka Suga, Chekiah Logan aka Sunny Boy, Gino Brooks all of Columbus, OH, and Etoko Brooks, of Mansfield, OH, who crowned him with the nick name “Geech”. special friends,Terri Brooks of Columbus, OH and Diane Portis, of Mansfield, OH; 18 grandchildren, Keniya Brooks, Zhawnliyaah Brooks, Salatha Brooks, Tekirah Brooks, Ni’Zhawn Cooper-Brooks, Ni’Layah Ward, Ra’Ziaha Brooks, Rakiaha Brooks, Calevra Ward, Kamaria Simpson, Taylor Rain Nelson, Dalaijia Lanier, Dae’Onna Brooks, Xavier McDaniel, Jayceon Logan, Makenzei Logan, Kharyi Logan Kyleiah Logan and a great grandchildren, Dekari Beamon; eight siblings, Alvin (Sherri Banks) Nettles, David Nettles, Dianna Nettles, Dorothy Hawthorne, and James Nettles, all of Mansfield, OH, Barbara (Provosta) Williams, Sharon (Leonard) Walker, and Burnell Nettles, all of Baton Rouge, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, who called him “Unkie Charles” aunts, uncles and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joyce “Rebone” Nettles, brothers, Lawrence “Polly” Davis, Henry Nettles and Joseph Nettles Jr.; maternal and paternal grandparents. Those left to cherish his memory are numerous. Charles’ life is an example of living carefree, loving and all out having fun. Charles loved hard and was loved even harder. His legacy will continue. #TeamJoker The services will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022, 11 am, with one-hour prior calling to the services, at Small’s Funeral Services, 326 Park Ave. W., with Dr. Larry Rawls officiating. The committal will follow the services. The family has entrusted Small’s Funeral Services with the arrangements.
